Isabel Sarty was named the AUS Female Swimmer of the Year for the second consecutive year while Lance Cansdale was named women's Coach of the Year.
All of听this season鈥檚 AUS major award winners were announced during today鈥檚 awards luncheon hosted by 新澳门六合彩 at the University Club in Halifax, N.S.
AUS Women鈥檚 Swimming Major Award Winners
SWIMMER OF THE YEAR: Isabel Sarty, Dalhousie
Atlantic University Sport women鈥檚 swimming鈥檚 swimmer of the year is Isabel Sarty from the Dalhousie Tigers.
A third-year neuroscience student from Halifax, N.S., this marks the second consecutive year Sarty has earned the conference鈥檚 top honour.
In her freshmen year, she was also named swimmer and rookie of the meet at the 2018 AUS championships.
This season, Sarty amassed 13 first-place individual finishes over four invitational meets, and another seven first-place finishes as a member of Dalhousie relay teams.
She set a new conference record on two occasions, both times breaking records she had previously set herself.
At the Kemp Fry Invitational meet hosted by Dalhousie in November, Sarty set a new record of 25.51 in the 50m freestyle event鈥攅clipsing her previous record of 25.75 which she set at the 2019 AUS championship. She then swam the 100m freestyle in a record time of 55.26, topping her own record of 55.66 set in November 2018.
Heading into this weekend鈥檚 conference championships, she has already guaranteed herself a trip to the national championships, having posted U SPORTS qualifying times in several events.
COACH OF THE YEAR: Lance Cansdale, Dalhousie
In his eighth season as head coach of the听Dalhousie Tigers,听Lance听Cansdale听has once again been chosen by his peers as the Atlantic University Sport women鈥檚 swimming coach of the year.
He has earned the honour in all eight听of his seasons with the Tigers.听
This season, the Tigers women鈥檚 team has earned a first-place finish at all four invitational swim meets.
Heading into this weekend鈥檚 AUS championships, eight swimmers from Candale鈥檚 women鈥檚 team and one from his men鈥檚 team have already posted U SPORTS qualifying times.

AUS Men鈥檚 Swimming Major Award Winners
SWIMMER OF THE YEAR: Noah Mascoll-Gomes, Mount Allison
Atlantic University Sport men鈥檚 swimming鈥檚 swimmer of the year is Noah Mascoll-Gomes from the Mount Allison Mounties.
A second-year arts student from St. John鈥檚, Antigua, Mascoll-Gomes earned six first-place and five second-place individual finishes this season through four AUS invitational meets.
He posted U SPORTS qualifying times in both the 100m and 200m freestyle events.
Mascoll-Gomes was honoured as both AUS rookie of the year last season as well as rookie of the meet at the 2019 AUS championship.
He represented Antigua and Barbuda when he competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, in the men's 200m freestyle. He was the flag bearer for Antigua and Barbuda in the closing ceremony.
He is working towards once again qualifying for this summer鈥檚 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
