REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Relevant training/experience in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.Ìý Good interpersonal skills required to work with students. Good understanding of vascular ultrasound is required. Current CARDUP and/or ARDMS certification required.Ìý Undergraduate or master’s degree preferred. Previous teaching experience is desirable.

Supervise, stimulate, challenge and monitor student performance in a nuclear medicine lab setting, ensuring that the lab exercise is as safe and as effective a learning experience as possible. Review submitted labs and provide written feedback to Professor of Record. Clean up of equipment/site after the learning experience.

Lab topics: Operation of radiation detectors, uptake probe spectrum and energy resolution, well counter geometry and sensitivity. Gamma cameras to include collimator resolution and sensitivity, acquisition and analysis of planar and SPECT imaging as well as routine quality control procedures.

Clean up of equipment/site after the learning experience. Lab topics: image manipulation of clinical data, SPECT phantom preparation, SPECT acquisition and processing, image filtering.

Students will do one clinical lab covering the use of power injectors in computed tomography.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Under guidance from faculty the successful candidate will evaluate student performance and provide feedback to students and faculty in a nuclear medicine clinical setting. The primary responsibility will be to serve as a clinical resource guide providing clinical evaluation and competency assessment. The successful candidate will collaborate with school faculty to ensure course objectives are met and provide remedial assessments as required. This discipline specific course integrates theory to practice in all aspects of nuclear medicine general imaging. Systems include: CNS, GI, GU, Endocrine, Respiratory, Skeletal and Tumour/Inflammatory.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Under guidance from faculty the successful candidate will evaluate student performance and provide feedback to students and faculty in a pediatric nuclear medicine clinical setting. The primary responsibility will be to serve as a clinical resource. The successful candidate will collaborate with school faculty to ensure course objectives are met and provide remedial assessments as required. This discipline specific course critically evaluates the theory and practice of pediatric nuclear medicine. Topics include: developmental and psychological aspects of children and families, immobilization techniques, sedition, and pediatric pathologies encountered in nuclear medicine.

07) POSITION:ÌýÌýÌýÌý Demonstrator RADT 1000, Skeletal Radiography
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý September-December 2013, 12 sessions @ 3 hours in lab and 1 hour prep each week

PAY RATE: $20.00 per hour
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The instructor will co-facilitate the lab component of RADT 1000, which consists of twelve lab sessions. For nine of these lab sessions the lab instructor will be responsible for reviewing/discussing radiographic images and related anatomy and assisting students with their learning.
The remaining three labs include introducing the students to the diagnostic imaging department and co-invigilating a lab test. Each lab session is sub-divided into two sessions to accommodate small group learning. These labs are conducted in radiographic exam rooms within the QE II Diagnostic Imaging department.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Certification in radiological technology, current membership with national and provincial professional associations, recent clinical experience and experience precepting students are required.Ìý Excellent understanding of general radiographic procedures and imaging equipment is essential. The successful applicant must have knowledge of the radiological technology curriculum, enjoy working with students and have good communication skills. Previous teaching experience is desirable. Undergraduate and master’s degree preferred.
