鈥嬧婱onth of June:聽Aboriginal History Month (Canada).聽聽An opportunity to recognize the historic contributions of Aboriginal peoples towards the development of Canada in addition to acknowledge the strength of present-day Aboriginal communities and their promise for the future.听鈥

Friday, June 1:聽ABORIGINAL SPIRITUALITY-聽聽The sixth moon of creation is Strawberry Moon. The medicine of the strawberry is reconciliation. It is during this moon cycle that communities would hold their annual feasts.

鈥婼unday, June 3:聽EASTERN / OLD / ORTHODOX CHRISTIANITY-聽A day to honor Christian saints throughout the ages.听鈥

Monday, June 4:聽BUDDHISM-聽Saicho Dengyo Daishi Memorial, the a鈥媙niversary of the death of Saicho Dengyo Daishi, who established the Tiantai/Tendai Sect in Japan.聽

鈥婽uesday, June 5:聽BAHA鈥橧 FAITH-聽N煤r聽(Light), the fifth month of the Bah谩鈥櫭 year.鈥

Friday, June 8:聽UNITED聽NATIONS聽OBSERVANCE / EVENT-聽World Oceans Day聽has been celebrated in many countries to call attention to the importance of oceans and the life they contain for the future of the planet, and to the threats to their ecosystems. This聽event聽was formally recognized by the UN in 2008.聽

鈥婼unday, June 10:聽ISLAM-聽Laylat al-Qadr, also known as鈥, Night of Power, Laylat al-Qadr commemorates the first revelation of the Qur鈥櫮乶 (Islamic scriptures) to Prophet Mu岣mmad in 610 CE.聽

Monday, June 11:聽ABORIGINAL SPIRITUALITY-聽National Day of Healing and Reconciliation (Canada)
The National Day of Healing and Reconciliation (NDHR) is an initiative meant to effect healing and reconciliation among all races, creeds, and denominations now residing in Canada.听鈥婲DHR shifted its day of healing from May 26 to June 11 in 2010, to acknowledge the second anniversary of Canada鈥檚 apology to IRS Survivors. However communities and groups across Canada continue to host events and activities at various times throughout the year.听鈥

Wednesday, June 13:聽听鈥婽he New聽Moon will located on the same side of the Earth as the Sun and will not be visible in the night sky. This is the best time of the month to observe faint objects such as galaxies and star clusters because there is no moonlight to interfere.
