Call for mentors

Pjila'si, The聽BIPOC Graduate Student Mentoring Academy聽is an exciting initiative that aims to provide greater support for Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) graduate students聽at 新澳门六合彩. The program connects graduate students with mentors who are experts in their fields and who share their racial or ethnic backgrounds.

The academy is currently building its network of BIPOC mentors within and outside of academia. We welcome applications from diverse backgrounds, including university staff, faculty and alumni, government and private sector employees, community leaders, and elders. Becoming a mentor allows you to support the aspirations of BIPOC graduate students through knowledge sharing, networking, and self-reflection.

Eligibility

To be eligible to be a mentor, you must:

  • self-identify as Black, Indigenous and/or a Person of Colour (BIPOC), and
  • be an experienced full or part-time working or retired professional or Elder.

Mentoring experience is preferred but not mandatory. After applying, you will be added to our list and contacted once you are matched with a mentee.听Mentor applications for the 2024-25聽program are open聽until聽September 30, 2024.听.听
