Queer鈥疐aculty鈥疭taff Caucus (QFSC):

The QFSC is a group鈥痮f鈥2SLGBTQIA+ identified staff鈥痑nd鈥痜aculty鈥痬embers from Dalhousie鈥痑nd鈥疜ing鈥檚 that鈥痯romotes awareness鈥痮f鈥痑nd鈥痚ducation around 2SLGBTQIA+ identities鈥痑nd communities; engages in social justice activities that improve the working鈥痑nd鈥痩earning environments for queer鈥痜aculty鈥痑nd鈥痵taff;鈥痑nd鈥痯rovides support鈥痑nd鈥痵ocial opportunities for 2SLGBTQIA+ staff,鈥痜aculty,鈥痑nd鈥痶he broader communities. Black鈥疐aculty鈥痑nd鈥疭taff Caucus:

The Dalhousie Black鈥疐aculty鈥痑nd鈥疭taff Caucus was formed by Dr. Afua Cooper after her arrival as the Johnston Chair in Black Canadian Studies in the summer鈥痮f鈥2011. The Mandate鈥痮f鈥痶he Black鈥疐aculty鈥& Staff Caucus is To serve as a voice for the concerns鈥痮f鈥痶he Black communities at 新澳门六合彩, particularly鈥痜aculty,鈥痑nd鈥痵taff, by bringing these concerns to the Board鈥痮f鈥疓overnors, the Senate, senior administration,鈥痑nd鈥痮thers as appropriate.

Accessible employment:

Accessible Employment provides education鈥痑nd鈥痮utreach to the Dalhousie Community to ensure employment at the University is accessible to all.鈥 We provide confidential support鈥痑nd鈥痳esources to employees. Our primary areas of responsibility include:鈥

  • Administration of the University鈥檚 Employment Accommodation Policy (Dalhousie has key frameworks in place to support the administration of accommodation requests鈥痑nd鈥痯rotect privacy).鈥
  • Advancement of the Employment Standard under the NS Accessibility Act.
  • Administration of the University鈥檚 short-term disability program, work injury leaves鈥痑nd鈥痶reatment plans, long term disability application support,鈥痑nd鈥痳eturn to work plans.
  • Employee wellness鈥痑nd鈥痮rganizational health, including health鈥痑nd鈥痺ell-being programing鈥痑nd鈥痵ervices. 鈥
  • Psychological safety including wellness checks,鈥痑nd鈥痵upporting employees in crisis.
